Founder: Shawn Judge

 

Shawn Judge is a graduate of the High School of Performing Arts  and SUNY at Purchase with a BFA in theater. Classically trained in acting, she has worked at The Guthrie Theater, Arena Stage, Center Stage, Cleveland Playhouse, Dallas Shakespeare and Second Stage in New York, performing roles such as: Hermione in The Winter’s Tale, Laura in the Glass Menagerie, Olivia in Twelfth Night, Mattie Campbell in Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, and Malika in The Screens. She has worked and trained with some of the most respected directors and voice and speech coaches in the country. She has also worked as a voice-over and on-camera actor.

Shawn started The Speaker’s Edge in 1999 to pursue her love of teaching. She utilizes her extensive language and performance arts skills to give business professionals presentation and communication skills that support their professional success. Her clients include: General Mills, Target, Mayo Clinic, Best Buy, Children’s Hospitals and Clinics, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, and numerous law firms in Minneapolis and their offices around the country.

Shawn stays connected to the theater community through audition coaching, master voice and speech classes, The Business of Show Business presentation, and sharing her experience of transitioning from the arts to new and exciting career opportunities. She is dedicated to supporting arts professionals’ success.

 


Artists 2 Artists was created to serve as a resource to artists in the vibrant MN theater community by providing mentors to support the professional development of the next generation of theater artists. 

Artists 2 Artists operates using The Power of Two principal.

 


The Power of Two:

  • Two mentees per mentor, max

  • Two months: mentees and mentors will meet or speak at least every two months

  • Two plays: mentee and mentors will see at least one production of the others work

  • Two events: mentees and mentors will attend kickoff and end gatherings
